How Reiki Can Support Stress Relief
If you're reading this, I'm going to guess life has felt a little... heavy lately.
Maybe you're juggling work, kids, relationships, or just trying to keep up with everything life keeps throwing your way. Maybe you've caught yourself saying, "I just need a break," but you don't even know what that break would look like anymore.
I get it.
One of the reasons I fell in love with Reiki is because it creates something that feels incredibly rare these days: permission to simply be.
Not to fix anything.
Not to perform.
Not to accomplish one more thing on your to-do list.
Just to breathe.
I think so many of us spend our days taking care of everyone else that we forget what it feels like to take care of ourselves. We push through stress because we have to. We tell ourselves we'll rest after this project, after vacation, after the kids go back to school, after things "settle down."
But somehow, they never really do.
That's where Reiki has become such a beautiful practice—not because it magically makes stress disappear, but because it gives us a chance to slow down long enough to remember what peace feels like.
During a Reiki session, you don't have to do anything.
Seriously.
You don't have to meditate perfectly.
You don't have to quiet your mind.
You don't have to know anything about energy healing.
You simply get to lie down, stay fully clothed, get comfortable, and let yourself receive.
Some people feel warmth. Some notice tingling. Some fall asleep before we're halfway through the session. Others leave saying, "I can't explain it... I just feel lighter."
And honestly? Every one of those experiences is perfectly okay.
People often ask me if Reiki "works."
I always smile because I think the better question is, What do you need right now?
Maybe you need an hour where no one is asking anything of you.
Maybe you need a safe place to let your shoulders finally relax.
Maybe you've been carrying emotions that you haven't had time to process.
Maybe you're simply exhausted.
Whatever brings you through my door, my hope is that you leave feeling more like yourself than when you arrived.
Not because I "fixed" you.
Because I don't believe you're broken.
I believe sometimes we just need space to reconnect with ourselves.
One of my favorite parts of every session is watching someone get off the table at the end. Their breathing is slower. Their face looks softer. There's often this little smile that says, "Wow... I didn't realize how much I needed that."
It's one of the reasons I love doing this work.
Life is busy. Stress isn't going away anytime soon. We can't control everything happening around us.
But we can choose to create moments where we pause.
Where we breathe.
Where we remember that taking care of ourselves isn't selfish—it's necessary.
If you've been curious about Reiki but weren't sure where to start, I'd love to welcome you into my healing space.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, navigating a big life change, or simply craving an hour of peace, you're welcome here exactly as you are.
No expectations.
No pressure.
No need to "believe" anything.
Just come as you are.
Sometimes healing doesn't begin with having all the answers.
Sometimes it begins with giving yourself permission to slow down.
And maybe that's exactly what you've been needing.
